Volunteers shine in Selly Oak summer spruce up

The 11 strong group based at Cadbury's world famous Bournville home spent a productive morning painting all the woodwork in the Forest School, the fences in the school's rear entrance and the panels on the outside of the maths room.

As well as this, some of the group helped to collect several tons of bark, tree trunks and branches from BCC Green Recycle centre to help replenish the Forest School. The game group then helped to unload the wooden treasure trove into the Forest School.

Head teacher Yvonne James said: "This group were incredibly enthusiastic and put in a lot of work to help the school look great.

"At this time of year there is a lot of work to be done to make sure Selly Oak Nursery School is ready for September and their fantastic effort has made a big difference. Our BSS was incredibly impressed by the volunteers' efforts.

"We'd like to say a big thank you to them and to Mondelez International."
