School Trip

Children thrilled by Gruffalo production

THERE was much excitement at Selly Oak Nursery School when the children enjoyed their first taste of the theatre with an outing to see The Gruffalo at Birmingham Town Hall.

In the Nursery's first School trip for three years, our groups saw the classic tale by Julian Donaldson and Axel Scheffler brought to life in spectacular fashion.

Staged by the Tall Stories Theatre Group, the production was performed by a cast of deaf and hearing actors who blended spoken English, British Sign Language and exciting visual storytelling.

Children, staff and parent volunteers travelled into the city centre by coach, while pupils sat nicely and were enthralled by the show.

This trip was part of the early years curriculum and the School's commitment to helping children learn more about the world.
